Website Terms of Use
1. About us and these terms
This website, checkmateexperiences.co.uk (the "website"), is operated by CheckMate Experiences Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17114396. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the website. By using the website, you confirm that you accept these terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
2. Acceptable use
You may use our website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:
use the website in any way that breaches any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation;
use the website in any way that is unlawful or fraudulent, or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect;
attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, the server on which it is stored, or any server, computer, or database connected to it;
introduce any viruses, malware, or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful;
copy, reproduce, republish, or resell any part of the website except as permitted under these terms.
We may suspend, withdraw, or restrict the availability of all or any part of the website for business or operational reasons at any time, without notice.
3. Our services and bookings
Information on the website about our coaching, retreats, events, and venue hire is provided for general information only. Specific bookings and purchases are governed by the relevant booking Terms & Conditions for that service (for example, our CheckMate Kids, CheckMate Retreats, Private Coaching, or The Rafayel Space hire terms), which apply in addition to these Terms of Use. Where there is any conflict between these Terms of Use and the booking terms for a particular service, the booking terms take precedence in relation to that booking.
4. Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights in the website and in the material published on it — including text, graphics, logos, the CheckMate Experiences name and brand, images, and design — are owned by or licensed to CheckMate Experiences Ltd, and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view, download, and print content from the website for your own personal, non-commercial use only. You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit any part of the website without our prior written permission.
5. Links to third-party sites
Where the website contains links to other websites and resources provided by third parties (for example, booking, payment, or social media platforms), these links are provided for your information only. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources, and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.
6. No warranties
We make reasonable efforts to ensure the information on the website is accurate and up to date, but we make no representations, warranties, or guarantees, whether express or implied, that the content is accurate, complete, or current. The website is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the website, or any content on it, will always be available, uninterrupted, or free from errors.
7. Our liability
Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all conditions, warranties, representations, or other terms that may apply to the website or any content on it, whether express or implied. We will not be liable to you for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, arising under or in connection with use of, or inability to use, the website, including any indirect or consequential loss.
This clause does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, nor your rights under the terms applicable to any service you book from us.
8. Privacy and cookies
Your use of the website is also governed by our Privacy Notice and Cookie Policy, which set out how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. Please review them to understand our practices.
9. Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms of Use at any time by updating this page. The version published here is the one that applies to your use of the website. Please check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms of Use, their subject matter, and their formation are governed by the law of England and Wales. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them.
